Greetings

Reinforcing the country’s infrastructure will be the key focus in empowering the development of our nation and country. The perception that our country is lacking in well planned economical status has hindered political stability, cultural development
and new civilization from being achieved. Hence investing in people talents and capitals within big projects will flourish the country’s economy and bring huge progress for the country’s infrastructure.
During the last decade; the owners of Asiacell Company have constructed various projects of animal livestock, factories and tourist places in Suleimaniya. Currently we
are opening this significant project that can be considered as the greatest one in the history of Kurdistan and Iraq.
Our telecommunications network now covers an area of 20-30 km inside Suleimaniya
and has international access facility.
During the next month new switch for the landlines in Suleimaniya will be installed and interconnected to the mobile phones.
The next step in our plan is to introduce the mobile services to the districts, sub districts and the villages of Qaladze, Koya, Chamchamal, Kalar, Kfri, Halabja, Hawraman and Penjwen. Following that we plan to interconnect the whole areas of Kurdistan within one year in cooperation with Korek Telecom in Erbil. We will continue to establish a private bank with an insurance company along with 986 UNSCR projects in collaboration of our government to modernize the infrastructure of Kurdistan.
Finally; I'll be grateful to his Excellency Mr. Talabani for his support and assistance to establish the mobile technology and I express my gratitude to the government’s cooperation in particular to Mr. Kosrat Rasul Ali as the Prime Minister to facilitate our mission. Special thanks to all the participants in this occasion."

President Talabani’s Formal Statement:

"Many thanks for the detailed elaboration of Mr. Faruk. I believe Suleimaniya is not only the city of sacrifice but it is also the city of hospitality and civilization. Suleimaniya is worthy to be provided with developed projects and services of world standard level.
We are confident that our precious national capitals are ready to cooperate and contribute in growing the country. Mr. Faruk and his colleagues are the typical examples of our nation’s progress.

Once again; I express my congratulations to Mr. Faruk and his colleagues for their great achievement in building up International communications access. Special congratulations to our lovely Suleimaniya city. I hope what Mr. Faruk has stated will come true in less than one year and to unify the two separated administration of Kurdistan to establish a federal Kurdistan in the frame of democratic Iraq.

Operation License in the entire of Iraq:

On 07/10/2003 after the liberation of Iraqi nations and establishing the new government, Asiacell Company was granted the legal license from Iraqi Ministry of Telecommunications and CPA to operate in North of Iraq. After one year of operation to cover North of Iraq, Asiacell was granted the license to cover the remainder regions of Iraq from General Institution for Telecommunications and Media.
At the end of September 2006, Asiacell covered most areas of Iraq and its sub base has reached 2,650,000 subscribers.
- On 10/06/2004, Roaming service was launched, now having (185) operators in (100) countries.
- On 06/09/2004, SMS2TV service was launched and up to now with (127) TV channels.
- On 02/10/2004, GPRS service was launched.
- On 04/10/2006, VMS service was launched.
- On 08/11/2005, Zein (F&F) service was launched.
- On 18/05/2006, Postpaid Line service was launched.
