Asiacell, the leading provider of telecommunications and digital services in Iraq, has garnered five prestigious global awards at the 2026 Stevie Awards for Technological Excellence. These include two gold, two silver, and one bronze award, in recognition of its qualitative local innovations in artificial intelligence, subscriber services, and network performance development.

The smart assistant "LAILA" was honored with the first Gold Award for being the first AI assistant for subscribers in Iraq, processing millions of interactions with an automated processing rate of 76%. The Customer Experience Index (CEI) system received the second Gold Award for its intelligent daily monitoring of the experience of over 20 million subscribers and its role in elevating overall service quality.

In the silver award categories, "LAILA" secured two silver awards: one for being launched as the first AI assistant to serve subscribers in three languages (Arabic, Kurdish, and English) through a unified conversational interface, and the second for its advanced technical architecture that directly links it to Asiacell's operational systems. Asiacell completed this achievement with a Bronze Award for building the first integrated artificial intelligence system in the Iraqi telecommunications sector, extending from customer service to network operations and predictive analytics.

Commenting on this achievement, Amer Sunna, CEO of Asiacell, stated, "These five awards, led by our two Gold Stevie’s, are not a tribute to Asiacell alone. They are proof that Iraqi talent can build AI solutions that match global benchmarks, and exceed them, in a more demanding operating environment. We have shown that innovation is not only imported into Iraq; it is made here."

Maggie Miller, President of the Stevie Awards, said, "We extend our congratulations to all the winners of the third edition of the Stevie Awards for Technological Excellence for their outstanding achievements. Their innovations contribute to shaping the future of technology across various sectors, and we look forward to celebrating their successes at the awards ceremony on October 28th."

This international recognition reinforces Iraq's position on the global technological map and solidifies its technological leadership, coinciding with Asiacell's readiness to launch 5G services upon obtaining official approvals from the Iraqi government. This global achievement saw the company compete with major institutions from over 30 countries and will be officially celebrated at the upcoming ceremony in Paris, the French capital.
