Asiacell Has Successfully Launched Advanced Policy and Charging Rules Function
Sulaimanya- Kurdistan-Iraq, March 15th , 2015: Asiacell, the leading provider of quality mobile telecommunications services in Iraq with 13.2 million subscribers, has become the first telecom operator in the world to successfully launch Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) using advanced SY interface between Ericsson and Huawei Systems.

Asiacell has selected world leading telecom vendors Ericsson and Huawei Technologies to deploy this network and enhance its 3G data services. This technological breakthrough is launched first time in the world and will be followed by other top operators in the globe.
Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) is the software node designated in real-time to determine policy rules in a multimedia network. As a policy tool, the PCRF plays a central role in next-generation networks. The SY reference point is located between the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) and the Online Charging System (OCS). The SY reference point enables transfer of information relating to subscriber spending from OCS to PCRF.
