Iraq achieves global recognition as Asiacell wins three prestigious awards at the 2025 STEVIE® Awards for Technology Excellence

In a new milestone reflecting the remarkable growth of Iraq's telecom and technology sectors, Asiacell has received three prestigious international awards at the 2025 Stevie® Awards for Technology Excellence, one of the world's leading platforms honoring technological achievements and impactful innovations in business.
Asiacell won the Silver STEVIE® Award for “Telecom Company of the Year”, in recognition of its continued leadership in the Iraqi market, sustained investments in infrastructure, and delivery of high-efficiency services. The judging panel highlighted the company’s outstanding achievement in executing a nationwide upgrade of its Business Support System (BSS) with zero downtime, an impressive technical feat that reflects Asiacell’s excellent operational and technological capacities. The company’s strong financial performance also stood out, with a 150% dividend distribution in 2024. Additionally, Asiacell was recognized for its consistent social responsibility initiatives, in addition to its pioneering launch of the first dual AI system in Iraq.
The first Bronze Award was in the category of “Best New AI Service”, granted to Asiacell for its AI assistant “LAILA” the first AI digital assistant developed to provide instant support to customers. Operating 24/7, LAILA allows customers to connect through the Asiacell app, website, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger. It delivers advanced support in Arabic, Kurdish, and English, making it a leading global model in customer service.
Asiacell also claimed the second Bronze STEVIE® Award for “Technical Innovation of the Year,” honoring the advanced hybrid AI architecture underpinning LAILA. Built on state-of-the-art natural-language-processing (NLP) and direct integration with Asiacell’s core systems, this framework enables context-aware support and instant, accurate responses.
